Headshot_644_KB.jpgDr. John Jacobson is an Austin native who began his medical career serving in the U.S. Army as a Medic.  While stationed in the United States and Europe he received extensive training in emergency care, dermatology, surgery, and physical exam.  For his efforts Dr. Jacobson was named the "Soldier of the Year" for the 67th Combat Support Hospital in 1995.
After serving his country, Dr. Jacobson completed his Bachelors Degree from the University of Houston, graduating with Honors.  His passion for helping others and knowledge of the human body, along with an excellent mentor (Dr. Mark Hendry D.C.), inspired him to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Dr. Jacobson completed his Chiropractic degree from the prestigious Texas Chiropractic College, graduating with Honors.  In addition to his Chiropractic training, he has received advanced training in multiple treatment techniques including:  Sports Rehabilitation, Myo-Fascial Release, Kinesio-Tape, Thompson Drop, Low-Force Technique, Activator, Spinal Decompression, Laser Therapy, Graston, Acupuncture, and Nutrition.

He uses the least force possible to gently perform chiropractic adjustments and incorporates extensive use of deep tissue massage and therapeutic exercise for muscle conditioning.
His clinical philosophy is to empower you with ways to help yourself, rather than create a passive dependency on repeated office visits. To that end, he will ask you to perform exercises, stretching and in some cases make nutritional changes to help you accomplish your goals.

Dr. Jacobson has an extensive background in Sports.  He played competitive soccer beginning at age 8 and eventually played on the U.S. Army Team in the United States and Europe.  He has been an active cyclist for the past 5 years, completing events such as MS150, Hotter N Hell 100, and multiple charity rides for several cycling clubs.  He enjoys playing golf, running, water sports, and yoga.  He loves a good fitness challenge, and is happy to sponsor local sporting events.

With Dr. Jacobson's extensive medical and sports background, he is confident in providing quality healthcare to address your needs.
